Hundreds of people demonstrated outside the Russian embassy in London following the passing of Alexei Navalny, a rival of Vladimir Putin.

This evening, demonstrators gathered outside the embassy in Kensington Palace Gardens, close to Hyde Park, screaming anti-Putin slogans.

Sayings like "the war must end," "love is stronger than the war," and "Putin is a murderer" could be heard.
Protesters once lit up their phones simultaneously as a sign of respect for the 47-year-old.

Russian news agencies reported Navalny's death today, citing the Siberian prison system where he was serving his sentence, although they provided no other details or a cause of death.
