A Roman camp at Armageddon is discovered

The location of Armageddon, which the Bible describes as the site of humanity's cataclysmic last conflict, has revealed a Roman camp.

The 1,800-year-old camp, which is located in northern Israel at the base of Tel Megiddo, served as a home to over 5,000 troops from the Sixth Ironclad Legion.

According to the Book of Revelation, before God reveals his awful wrath, the rulers of the world are gathered at Tel Megiddo by demons to engage in combat.
Its current infamous epithet, Harmagedon, derives from its Hebrew name, Har Megiddo, which means Mount Megiddo.

As it happens, the foreboding location has a history of accommodating massive military forces, having once housed the largest Roman army outpost in Israel.
